Warner/Chappell Removes Popular Artists from the “Karaoke No-Fly-List”
The word from various karaoke manufacturers, including our karaoke subscription partners at Party Tyme Karaoke, is that Warner/Chappell Music Group has removed a few mega artists from the karaoke exclusion list (AKA “Karaoke No-Fly-List“).
This is great news for karaoke hosts and singes alike, as they can now legally perform with songs from top artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, The Eagles, and more.
Party Tyme has already gotten a jump on things, releasing a number of previously excluded songs in last week’s subscription update. Users of DEX 3 or LYRX that subscribe to the commercially-legal Party Tyme Karaoke Subscription can access the previously off-limits tracks now and we’re sure there are more on the way.
Here’s the short list of artists that have been removed from the Warner/Chappell Exclusion List:
- Bee Gees
- Don Henley
- The Eagles
- Green Day
- James Brown
- Katy Perry
- Kid Rock
- Randy Newman
- Savage Garden
- The Ramones
- Van Halen
- Van Morrison
We hope this is a sign of things to come, with other manufacturer’s soon following suit. After all, karaoke can only further assist in promoting artists such as those found on the list above, and in some cases, help keep them relevant.
