Dex 3 now has the premium subscription service for karaoke? What in the world is this about?
So the ‘Pro’ PCDJ karaoke program just got down graded?
Party Tyme Karaoke has been implemented into DEX 3 since AUGUST. Party Tyme uses MP4 HD video files – and since Karaoki isn’t currently a native video player, it’s not a good fit (for now). Once we overcome the native video playback hurdle it would also be a choice option for Karaoki. Party Tyme is twice as much as KCP at $99 a month – but the selection is better.
We also just updated DEX 3 (pro) with various new karaoke specific features – including a managed rotation and singer history. Learn more here: http://www.pcdj.com/public-beta-of-dex-3-pro-with-karaoke-features/
DEX 3 and Karaoki are managed by completely different developers and follow unique development paths. There is no ‘code’ shared between the two applications and features work very differently from each other. DEX 3 is designed to be an all-in-one entertainment software solution whereas Karaoki is karaoke-only.
Ryan … Thanks for the clarification. Party Tyme seems hands down the only decent publisher of new material and besides the quality, 14k to 4k catalog is pretty much a no brainer.
Agreed. And they have a lot more NEW stuff. Would love to have the option in Karaoki in the future as well – but we wouldn’t remove KCP if we add PT.
