    DEX 3 won’t load tracks from search. Why?

    That means you have dead links in the internal database/search cache. It means those particular entries in the database, those songs, are not in the same physical location on your computer (or external hard drive) as they were when you first imported them into DEX 3. Keep in mind if you move songs that were already imported prior, and simply clear the database list or the like and re-import the songs again from a different location, the dead links/old entries will still be present in the internal database and search cache until you remove them. Try right-clicking in the database list in DEX 3 (where you see your songs) and select “remove dead files”. Give DEX 3 some time to ‘think’ and it will come back with a number of dead files found/removed.

    If you use an external hard drive for your music, it could be that your hard drive letter was changed on you by Windows – a common issue. If you always make sure to plug in your hard drive prior to booting up your computer Windows should not re-assign the drive letter, and thus won’t break the links in DEX 3.
