The other night I had a singer ask me I could play a karaoke song that he found on YouTube. I told him I didn’t think so, but thought I’d go ahead and ask if this is possible. I think the only way to save YouTube videos is with a “link”.

Karaoki can play videos providing codecs are installed on the system (sometimes you have to try a few codec packs to find the right fit for the file format and computer environment however). This codec pack has been successfully used by many PCDJ customers: http://www.pcdj.com/karaoke-video-codec-pack/

However, using songs from YouTube in a commercial environment isn’t legal. Our take on using YouTube in a professional environment (whether just videos or karaoke): http://www.pcdj.com/dj-advice-the-truth-behind-using-youtube-video-downloads-for-video-mixing-or-karaoke/
