My File of Karaoke songs is rapidly growing. I have MP4 Karaoke video, and CDG+MP3 in both the zipped and unzipped versions. I am happy to say that I can neither see or hear any difference when playing them back in Dex 3.
My question: Is there any advantage between one file type or another when saving to a data base file and later adding information to those files from within Dex 3 that will later be read when Dex 3 accesses these files from its database?
MP4 files support “TAGS” – which are standardized, and as such will display better in the DEX 3 browser without any editing. They are also ‘one file’, instead of 2 (mp3+G, albeit in a zip). I prefer Mp4 for these reasons. However, they are larger in file size, so that’s the trade-off.
