I know this is a dumb question, but……………..

I have a decent song collection on my hard drive, but many times people will come over to sing and will bring their own karaoke cds.. I also have a bunch of cds left over from my former system that I would like to be able to use.

Is there any way to be able to play karaoke cds on my PCDJ system, and have the words show on the computer screen? Or, is there any way to add these on to my hard drive so that I may use them? Do you sell programs that would allow me to do this?

I am the Fred Flintstone of computers, so bear with me.

    Thanks,
    Glen

Sorry, no, we do not support direct CDG playback and currently do not plan to. There are many variables, but the biggest one is that many CDROM drives do not support CDG discs and therefore do not have any way to ‘play them’.

OK, I understand. So, back to square one.

I bought an older karaoke system that utilized a hard drive that had a lot of songs on it. Turns out that the hard drive was the only valuable working part of the system. Everything else I had to replace. I bought a computer, mixer, mikes and speakers, and bought PCDJ karaoke software. So far so good, and we can sing and play from the hard drive.

So how would I go about adding additional music from CDs to my hard drive? If that is not possible, how do I buy music and get it to my hard drive so that I play from my karaoke system?

You can use the FREE audiograbber software on this page to rip CDG discs to MP3+G files to use in Karaoki (just be sure to watch the video tutorial for how to properly use it!): http://www.pcdj.com/free-cdg-ripper-for-windows/

Your best bet to buying new karaoke music isn’t buying CDG discs however, it’s downloads. These are some popular sites with karaoke hosts right now:

    http://www.sunflykaraoke.us
    http://www.buykaraokedownloads.com

You can buy ala carte and just what you need!
