I recently downloaded a 23GB video that I hoped to use as electronic visualization background – something to project on a screen while I played other songs. When I attempted to load it into PCDJ 3.6, the app immediately crashed. Is that due to the file size? That would be my guess, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Yes, remember we buffer the ENTIRE track to RAM when you load it to the deck. Therefore you’d need 23GB of RAM to compensate (and more for other operations). I can easily load 500MB files and a bit larger, but beyond that I wouldn’t recommend it.
That explains it. My laptop maxes out at 16, so a 23GB file would crash the program. I’ve got a workaround; but it’s nice to know that I shouldn’t try to load such a big file.
