I have used PCDJ for several years and won’t use anything else. I have been waiting for some attention to be given to this fine program but DEX gets all the attention. I was excited to finally see that PCDJ was not forgotten. Problem it won’t work wit Win 10. I have 2 Very new powerful PC side by side that I use in my home studio. I have had Win 7 on one and Win 8.1 on the other. I updated the Win 7 to Win the other day, no problems until now. PCDJ hangs with the blue 45 spindle insert logo and it won’t respond. The way out is Task Manager to end the program. Bummer. Anything I need to know for Win 10??

HI Michael, thanks for the kind words!

Karaoki has been fully compatible with Windows 10 since Windows 10 launched. We had an early developer copy, so it was supported from the jump.

I think I may however know what you’re experiencing, and I think it may have something to do with your video card/drivers. When Karaoki is loading (splash start-up screen), do you see the components loading at the bottom of the slash screen? Should have text there indicating what items are being initialized on startup. If you do not see the “initialization” text, it’s likely a local issue.

After upgrading to windows 10, you have to update all your audio/video card drivers as well – and this may very well fix the issue. Our lead developer has suggested the video card is the culprit in these cases, therefore updating all drivers may resolve it.

If you still have the issue after doing so I suggest calling into our offices during business hours, whomever answers the phone in sales can assist!

Also, have you already installed the new patch we posted above? 0.8.5855?

I also failed to mention Karaoki receives updates every 30-45 days – so make sure you often check for updates by: Click options -> utilities -> check for update. I suggest installing the new beta’s displayed there when available!
