Karaoke “NO-FLY” List: These singers don’t want you to sing their songs!

Songwriters That Don’t Want You To Sing Their Songs in the United States of America

The 2013 Karaoke Cloud Music City Summit just wrapped up in Nashville Tennessee last week. One of the more intriguing developments was the release of of the karaoke “No-Fly” list. In short, these original Artists do not want you to sing their songs, and US law dictates that you need explicit permission from the artist to produce and sell their song in karaoke format. It’s a shame. It’s as if these Artists have really lost touch with what drew them to music in the first place and who made them who they are…why not let your fans honor with emulation? As they say, that’s the highest form of flattery…

The US is the only country in the world with a copyright law that prevents karaoke companies from producing songs without special permission from the songwriter, according to Karaoke Cloud.
