Keeping A Pulse On Pulselocker | Beat Selector Update Allows You To Filter Multiple Genres

Beat Selector Music Discovery Tool

We introduced initial Pulselocker support in our DEX 3 and DEX 3 RE DJ programs in October of last year knowing it would be a massively popular in-app music service for DJs.

That has, not surprisingly, proven to be the case with a large number of our users now active subscribers to the online/offline subscription. We also recently updated our free DJ software DEX 3 LE to support the music streaming service.

With Mobile DJs being one of our core customers, having access to 44+ million songs on-demand means they can rapidly search, load and play customer song requests. It means purchasing music to stay up-to-date with what’s hot right now is no longer a weekly (and often stressful) necessity as it is for most jocks.

Pulselocker’s website is constantly evolving and being optimized. The service is technically still consider ‘beta’ and updates are being pushed out on a regular basis. They’ve just upgraded one of the coolest (I feel) features of the site, the Beat Selector.

The Beat Selector is a music discovery tool — just mash the button and Pulselocker’s music discovery engine will suggest and play tracks based on the genre’s you follow. For DJs that wish to attain a unique sound and carve out their niche, they need to consistently discover new music based on the genre/s they play and work those tracks into their mix sets. The Beat Selector is a great assistant to finding those tracks.

The update to Beat Selector allows DJs to filter multiple genres at once – instead of just selecting one genre at a time.  I find this highly useful as I typically work multiple genre’s into my sets, I have a very eclectic taste in music that carries over to my mixes.

You can learn more about Pulselocker and how to start a no-commitment free 14-day trial of the service in any version of our DJ software HERE
